They spent $500 (if they actually bought it) to make this ad. That's nothing.
Some companies spend millions of dollars on a 30 sec ad. You guys can seemingly only justify money paid to actors, but not money spent on a relatively cheap physical prop.

Wonderful so far. Stephan Merchant is hilarious...and the inclusion of light bridges/jump boards/etc make this hands down more intriguing than the first;)

It is scary how stalkerish technology has become... The other night I typed my address into Google Earth and it pulled up a satellite image of my house... google was only 2 houses off.... that is really ****ed up

Does anyone think that Jobs will release the Generation 6 iPod around the same time the Zune is released? The press coverage of the new iPod would put the Zune release a small story in the back of the newspaper. The new iPod would get all the headlines and MS would not get that much attention with their release. If you look at it from a marketing standpoint it would make a lot of sense. All the tech stories would revolve around the release of the new iPod, PS3, and the Wii. How could the Zune compete with that when all of the coverage is going to the heavy hitters? Jobs knows how to handle to press so I think that this really makes sense. Any thoughts?

This 3D tech is not as cool as it looks in these videos. Both your eyes receive the same image, so your brain knows its not 3D. Nothing will look like its "popping" out of your screen at you.

It is nice to see both Nintendo and Apple embracing this. It will make the merger in 5 or 6 years even nicer when Apple buys Nintendo.

It'll be touch-screen for sure. Ideally, I'd like a physical keyboard that perhaps you could flip over for a touchscreen, because I can't imagine typing on a QWERTY touchscreen... That being said, it might be better for me ol' joints than a physical one...

If you had a 30 minute commute each way to work, you are looking at (roughly) going over your allowance in a month (AT&T USA) without any other data usage. (60 mins x 20 days = 2,250MB ).
I'm not sure this is sustainable unless the telecom providers stop putting small data caps on usage...

So let's say you're right, and it streams at some lower kbps. So this service would offer you the ability to hear degraded music... when you have internet access... And it'll use up your monthly data (assuming it's 3G rather than wifi).
This is better than an iPod/iPhone... How? Or not even better -- this is a useful supplement how?

I saw this story this morning, and thought it was one of the stupidest reports I've seen in awhile. You could either track some random person who has the device for a few feet, or blow $20 to 'plant' one in someone's backpack. Never mind the rest of the money you'd be spending just to have devices nearby to pick up the signal. This story ranks up next to 'German police battle giant parrot' in importance. :rolleyes:

With the way that screeshots end up in the public eye from these Dev releases, does anyone think that this is all that 10.5 will have to show us? Apple knows leaks like this are going to happen, so we're not really seeing the "good stuff" yet. AKA: Top Secret features. ;)

I'd call it lazy instead of easier. They could easily detect the current version installed and download the approriate patch, or fall back to the whole OS if it's not the most recent update.

They don't work for Apple they work for Foxconn. Please get your facts straight before you chastise someone. The article states Foxconn investigated and called the cops.
Its obvious you have never worked as a contractor or else you would know these things. The last thing a contractor wants to do is lose their client and will deal with employees who do something that negatively impacts the client.
"Several online shopping retailers in China were able to sell iPad 2's protective case products before the iPad 2 was even launched, leading Foxconn to suspect that there might have been some employees leaking the design of iPad 2 which it reported to the local police.
