Been at Bluewater in the queue for a hour now. The queue goes from the Apple Store up to House of Fraser and back around all the way back to Oasis! I'm in front of Russell & Bromley :p
They said they are handing out tickets at 3pm and it's up to 2 per customer.

Whenever I would plug in my iPod Video, iTunes would become unresponsive and I would get the beachball. I'm running iTunes 10.1.2. I have a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook. For some reason I feel like I've had this problem before but I don't remember how I fixed it.

Hey guys,
I have a powermac g4 digital audio I believe, 700 mhz processor. I also have 2 powermac g3's I believe the fastest that created. 400 mhz or something like that. I have another g4 with the 350 processor that I can test the power control which with but it would be a pain because my grandparents are using it so it would take a while to get it unhooked/dug out, they use it as a paper holder behind a desk cords and everything are ran through the desk.
Here's my 3 questions:
1. The Powermac g4 when you push the power button it lights up but when you release it goes out. The logicboard does not respond. Should I buy a new power control module or is there a way to use the one from the g3, it looked different at first glance.
2. To run a home server is it better to run a g4 with the faster processor or a g3 with more ram, the g3 has 4 slots the g4 only 3.
3. Best way to use as a media server I was thinking put everything into itunes and use the homesharing, is that available in tiger? Is that the best way to do it?
It will be used with apple tv, macbook, powerbook, ibook, imac g5, xbox 360?
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Here's the short version:
1. Which powermac to use as a server?
2. Best way to do media server?
1.) The logic board is fried. (Don't buy a new one)
2.) Niether, you probably don't need a server and even if you do a G3 or G4 is simply to slow for the job. Buy yourself a bottom of the line Mac Mini with an external RAID 1 drive for your media server "needs". Also make sure you get 4GBs minimum on the RAM.
3.) Get 10.5/10.6 if you have intel and run something like Plex.
Cheers

Will they fix the camera and controls with Shadow of the Collosus?
That was the most difficult part of the that game, seeing where you were going!!!
I'm interested since I never played ICO as long as they don't charge full retail for both games...

Have you given much thought to creating sub-forums for unannounced products like the iPhone 5 or iPad2? That would keep the long list of nearly identical speculation threads from clogging up the main forums.

Imo... i hope you're paying little or nothing for either. The intuos 4 is nice but I actually found that 3 is the most durable. So I would definitely get one of those (I have no.4 myself). If working in PS is your job, why not spend a little on this item?

Isn't the graph misleading? Is it 400 thousand units or 400 million units?
ya, it's supposed to be thousands of units and dollars.

Back in '84 the recording choices were Beta or VHS...
That would be the source, unfortunately.... ;)
I guess is someone had a Beta Hi-Fi copy on a High Grade Tape with great reception, then you can capture it but need to use some sort of TBC with it.

I think that would be the way forward. I don't have time myself to implement it though

Well, at least it shows he can code a GUI. I mean he could have thrown some fake padding in there to make it a realistic size.

Yes, Parallels and VMware are better products, but that is not the point. Has no one else noticed the number of products Microsoft is canceling for the Mac. I do not believe that Microsoft sees a market for the Macintosh. This of course is purely a business perspective.
I for one think Apple will be taught a lesson in respect. The only logical solution is to kill off Mac Office universal binary support. If they want to run on the Intel platform, they can run on emulation.
It would not be much of a loss if Microsoft decided to pull the plug. Don't think they haven't taught about it. A three percent market share or 19 million desktop users does not even come close to the numbers that still use Windows 2000, never mind Windows 98. I of course don't wish this to happen, but it is one logical outcome.

Aloha everyone,
I'm not quite sure how this happened, but here's my current issue. I can build, archive, and verify my apps, but after uploading them to iTunes Connect, I get the dreaded "invalid binary" email from Apple. It indicates an invalid signature on the app itself, pointing to the Distribution certificate used.
I then checked out the Organizer in Xcode and everything looked good. I had all the certs listed, as well as the provisioning profiles. I then checked out Keychain access, and this is where it gets a little screwy.
In My Certificates, I can see both the Developer and Distribution certs, both with the private keys. When I check the Keys section, however, all I see is a key for my Developer cert. I don't see a key for my Distribution cert. Does anyone know why this is, or what could have caused this? I'm operating under the assumption, of course, that I need private keys for both certs, and if they show up under My Certificates, then they should also show up under Keys.
I've already sent an email to Apple, but does anyone have a clue as to what I can do between now and when (or if) Apple ever gets back to me?
Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

I have 10.5 being shipped to my work and I'll be installing it on my PowerBook there.
I get off work at 4 and may stop by the Apple Store 5th Ave. to see what's going on.

Vim.
Debugging is mainly handled within the browser. Chrome and Firefox are especially good at this (Firefox has Firebug which is useful and the standard Chrome dev tools are top notch too).
The Chrome dev tools are just the standard webkit developer tools.

Hello fellow snappers,
For my upcoming 18th I'll be getting a Canon EOS 500D, as I currently only have a compact and my dad agrees that an SLR would be a good investment for me.
We aren't made of money though, and in looking for the best deal we have found a significantly (12%) cheaper package on pixmania compared to amazon. However the supplied lens on Amazon is Image Stabilized, whereas the same lens is supplied on pixmania but without the image stabilization. My first question is, as I won't be able to afford a new lens for quite a while, is it important that I have image stabilization or not? I mostly shoot nature shots and stills for the most part but occasionally may have to capture action, such as my Dad's girlfriend's dressage competitions - am I going to have a problem with the non-IS lens?
Secondly, on pixmania it's advertised with an '18-55 DC Lens'... What does the DC stand for or what does it mean?
Thank you for your time reading this.
Cheers,
Tristan.

This is a really short sighted and black and white viewpoint.
1. Even games that are better with physical controls can be implemented to still be fun on the iphone. Sure, they probably are just going to be ports over from other devices (hey, let's see if we can pick up a few more sales), but they still are fun to play (I've played Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia on my phone. Both are fun and easy to get over the only having a virtual joystick).
2. Shortsighted because this completely ignores the fact there are many games that you really don't need physical buttons or the gameplay is actually better using something else:
